Golden Lion Hotel

Opened in 1846 and originally named The New Inn, this was the town's first building. See also Golden Lion Hotel. Location: The Green, Hunstanton.

It originally stood in the middle of nowhere, there was no other building between the Lighthouse and Heacham other than the ruined Chapel, critics nicknamed it 'Le Strange's Folly' after Henry Styleman le Strange, the man who built it.
